Just over a week out from the release of Karnivool’s highly anticipated fourth studio album In Verses, the Perth prog-rockers have shared another taste in the form of the melodic single ‘Animation’.
One of the first songs written for the album, ‘Animation’, came to fruition during the writing and recording of fan favourite ‘All It Takes’.
“Animation leans into new space found within the rhythm section,” the band said in a statement. “It holds the pulse of In Verses—tight, detailed, tense. It reflects the frustration, the renewal, and the search for light that runs through the record, all while staying true to our sound.”
The track follows the previously released singles ‘Opal’, ‘Drone’, ‘All It Takes’ and Aozora’, all of which are taken from In Verses, which arrives Friday 6 February via Cymatic Records/Sony Music (pre-order/pre-save here).
Recorded in the band’s Perth studio with longtime collaborator Forrester Savell, In Verses’ ten tracks “journey collective feelings of frustration, catharsis and a rediscovery of identity.”
