Known for her unique mixing style influenced by Latino culture and pride, DJ KICKIT joined Trevor Scott in the studio for a conversation about her journey and inspirations.
“Everywhere that I go, it doesn’t matter what kind of gig I’m doing, whether it’s a wedding, a private event, something here in Austin always represents me,” said Rendon, “And right now, one of the top artists who’s ready for the Super Bowl is Bad Bunny. I sprinkle a little bit of him, a little bit of stuff that I grew up with, and then obviously something else that is true to me, which is hip hop music. So that’s how I show up for myself. So for my community and other communities around Texas.”

DJ KICKIT’s latest book delves into her experiences and creative process.
“Originally, I was creating this book for students, so shout out to the team 360 Athletics, I’m part of their speaker team. Also, do motivational speaking around the country to you, to At-Risk, and to young athletes. So originally I wanted this book to be for them, but as I started writing it and sharing some of my stories, I was like, women need to hear this. Latinas need to hear this, entrepreneurs need to hear this. LGBTQ groups need to hear this. So this is for everybody. And through this book, I’m showing you how to beat the odds. I’m showing you how to have Balance. It’s the “B” right there. I’m showing you how to have excellence. That’s the “E”. I’m showing you how to hold yourself Accountable. That’s the “A”. And I’m also showing you “T” for tenacity.”
