Vinnie Pasquantino made it clear on social media earlier this offseason that he wasn’t looking forward to the salary arbitration process.
In the end, the Kansas City Royals‘ slugger won’t have to face it. He and the Royals reached a compromise.
On Friday, the Royals and Pasquantino reached agreement on a two-year contract that will avoid arbitration for the next two seasons, according to MLB.com’s Anne Rogers.
The contract will pay the big fella more than $11 million guaranteed and up to $16 million with incentives, per Rogers.

The 28-year old Pasquantino just had his best MLB season.
He played 160 games, hit 33 doubles, slugged 32 homers, drove in 113 RBI and had a .264 average with a .798 OPS.
Pasquantino hit 19 homers the year before in his first full time season as a starter.
He was originally an 11th-round pick by the Royals in the 2019 draft out of Old Dominion.

The Royals just moved the fences in 10 feet this season, which could lead to even more baseballs launched beyond the fence for Pasquantino.
He’s a fan favorite in Kansas City, and it’s good for everyone to know that Pasquantino is happy and secure as the new season approaches.
