SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Put Me In, Coach! It’s where a sports podcast meets sports showdown between two average guys: with a healthy dose of trash talk and self-deprecating humor.
For viewers who like their sports coverage mixed with fun, and a reminder that sports are harder than they look, Ozarks First+ may already have their next watch queued up.
The new show is called “Put Me In, Coach” and new episodes drop every week. You can watch them on demand as well on the Ozarks First+ app.

“Put Me In, Coach” features Ozarks First News Anchor Jesse Inman and Sports Anchor Chris Pinson — two familiar faces stepping out from behind the news desk and into head-to-head sports challenges. The video at the top of this story shows a trailer for the latest episode.
Jesse Inman | Chris Pinson
Each episode starts with fast-paced discussion on the latest sports headlines. However, it escalates into trash talk by pitting the two anchors against each other in a rotating lineup of athletic — and humbling — challenges.
What are the stakes? It ends with someone facing a punishment they probably regret agreeing to.
Some might call them has-beens. Others might say they were never-were’s. The show leans into that debate, turning it into an ongoing contest to see who is, in fact, less washed up.
Put Me In, Coach: Bowling Brawl
Each episode mixes analysis of current sports topics with challenges inspired by what’s happening locally and nationally. Past competitions have included:
Competing on the basketball court ahead of Springfield’s Tournament of Champions
Kicking field goals, showing how hard a kicker’s job really is
Head-to-head bowling matchup on a snowy day
The guys keep standings of how they fare in weekly competition, with the loser at risk of facing a punishment. Some of those punishments have included a trying to read off the teleprompter after running a mile, which made for a tough day in the studio.
Another forced the loser to catch several pop-flies on the baseball diamond…. only without a baseball glove. By the way, it was in six-inches of snow.
While viewers typically see Inman and Pinson delivering news and sports updates on TV, the streaming show offers a different side of both. There is no script, and both are willing to fail publicly for your entertainment.
Put Me In, Coach
The show is available exclusively on the Ozarks First+ streaming app, which is free to download on Smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire Stick devices.
Episodes are available on demand, with new episodes airing live every Thursday at 12:30 p.m. on the app.
