Look out, Hollywood, a new potential king or queen of comedy is incoming!
Eddie Murphy‘s son, Eric, and Martin Lawrence‘s daughter, Jasmin, are expecting their first baby together.
“Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift,” the couple said in a post shared on Monday jointly to their Instagram accounts. The message came alongside two sweet shots of Jasmin cradling her bump, and one photo of the couple posing together lovingly.
Fans of the couple and their famous patriarchs flooded the comments with their excitement, with one writing, “Having Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence as your grandparents is life!!!”
Another person wrote, “Imagine having Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence as your grandfathers!!! 😍😍😍I love this!!” While another added, “That baby gona be talented and funny as hell.”

Eric and Jasmin began dating in 2021, and they first announced their engagement in November 2024.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show last May, Eddie revealed the lovebirds had officially tied the knot recently.
“Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago,” he said at the time. “They went off…. Everybody was making the big wedding plans, and they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”
Of his fellow longtime comedian, Eddie joked, “Yeah, we’re in-laws. And he doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now.”
When Hudson asked whether Eddie had sung at the wedding, the “Party All the Time” artist revealed he wasn’t even at the affair — with good reason.
“No, they didn’t have a wedding. They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher,” Murphy said. “They had a quiet little thing. So I think we’ll have like a big party or something.”

Prior to the couple’s engagement, in an interview with CBS Mornings on July 2, 2024, Eddie told Gayle King that he and Martin thought it was “cool” that their kids were in a relationship.
“They’re both beautiful,” Eddie said. “They look amazing together. And it’s funny [because] everybody [asks], ‘What is that baby going to be funny?’”
“Just our gene pool is going to make this funny baby,” he added. “If they ever get married and have a child, I’m expecting the child to be funny.”
Eric is the eldest of the Coming to America star’s 10 kids, while Jasmin is the eldest of the Blue Streak actor’s children. Eddie and Martin previously worked together in both 1992’s Boomerang and 1999’s Life.
