Paradise turns sinister and scary in Mi Amor, the new feature film from actor-director Guillaume Nicloux’s (The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq, Valley of Love), a disappearance thriller with a pulsing techno score courtesy of Irène Drésel and Sizo Del Givry. The movie just celebrated its world premiere in the Limelight section of the 55th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) on Sunday.
“Met with evasion from locals and the authorities, Romy’s search leads her to Vincent, a magnetic stranger (Benoît Magimel), and the sinister proprietors of an exotic animal sanctuary,” a synopsis for Mi Amor tells us. “With the help of Vincent, the club owner with a troubled past, Romy will stop at nothing to find her.
