South Africa’s longest-running music festival returns in April 2026 to celebrate a major milestone — 35 years of Splashy Fen. From 2–6 April 2026, the festival once again takes over the Southern Drakensberg, offering five days of live music, community, and one of the country’s most immersive outdoor festival experiences.
Now firmly established as a multi-genre destination festival, Splashy Fen 2026 promises its most ambitious edition to date, blending heritage with forward momentum.

Why Splashy Fen Still Matters
For 35 years, Splashy Fen has remained a cornerstone of South Africa’s live music culture — not by chasing trends, but by building community, nurturing talent, and creating space for shared experience. The 2026 edition doesn’t just reflect on that legacy — it actively expands it.
As the festival enters its next chapter, the question is no longer whether Splashy Fen belongs on the national calendar — but how it continues to redefine what a South African music festival can be.
