The Holy Redeemer girls basketball team picked up a win over first-place Nanticoke Area on Wednesday night.

Bella Boylan and McKenzie Chimock combined for 42 points as the Royals got past Nanticoke Area, 59-52, in Wyoming Vallley Conference Division 2 play.

Nanticoke already wrapped up first place in the division, but Redeemer is fighting for the division’s second spot in the playoffs.

Boylan had 22 points — 10 of those coming in the second quarter — and added 11 rebounds, while Chimock netted 14 of her 20 in the first quarter and completed her double-double with 10 rebounds.

Tessa Cegelka was the third Royal in double figures with 13.

Kate Reed led Nanticoke with 25 points, while Natalee Atkins netted 12.

Lake-Lehman 55, MMI Prep 10: At Lake-Lehman, the Black Knights held MMI Prep scoreless in the first quarter to pick up the WVC Division 2 victory.

MacKenzie Morreale and Kinley Purdy each had 10 points for the Black Knights.

Anna Drobnock scored six points for MMI Prep.

Wyoming Seminary 52, Wyoming Area 34: At Seminary, the Blue Knights jumped out to a 10-point lead after one quarter and cruised to the Division 2 win.

Seminary netted 21 in the third quarter to seal the victory.

Ella Stambaugh led the way with 22 points — 13 of those coming in the third quarter. Teammate Ellie Kersey finished with 15.

Addison Gaylord and Londyn Sobeck combined for 28 points to lead the Warriors.

Hanover Area 29, Tunkhannock 28: At Hanover Area, it was a 12-11 edge in the third quarter that proved the difference in the Hawkeyes’ victory.

Emma Schlingman led Hanover with 14 points, while Symone Mims finished with 10.

Elizabeth Moore scored 11 of the Tigers’ 28 points.

Hazleton Area 68, Wilkes-Barre Area 34: At The Den, the Cougars scored 46 points in the first half, and rolled past WBA inside The Den in Division 1 action.

The Cougars scored 24 in the first quarter, and held a 22-9 edge in the second.

Kaitlin Bindas led Hazleton with 15 points, and Addison Fritz finished with 10.

For WBA, Jaida Underwood netted 12 buckets for 28 points.

Pittston Area 40, Berwick 28: At Berwick, Pittston Area was down nine at the break, but used a 16-point edge in the third quarter to rally for the win.

Pittston Area held Berwick to seven points in the second half.

Julia Long scored all 17 of her points in the second half to lead the Patriots.

Grace Robbins led Berwick with 10 points, while Abby Calarco added nine.

Boys swimming

Lake-Lehman 130, Wilkes-Barre Area 33: At WBA, Lehman won seven of the eight individual races as the Black Knights picked up a win.

Josiah Frey and Conner Runquist each had two wins for Lehman.

Bilal Derac had the lone Wolfpack victory.

Dallas 107, Nanticoke Area 48: At Dallas, the Mountaineers were first in every race as Dallas picked up the league win.

Noah Belfino and Nico Wilk each won two individual events.

Tunkhannock 137, Wyoming Area 21: At Wyoming Area, Tunkhannock swept all the races Wednesday as the Tigers beat Wyoming Area.

Kyle Kozloski and Brayden Christopher each won twice for the Tigers.

Aidan Mislevy and Jayden Baltrusaitis were also individual winners.

Girls swimming

Lake-Lehman 92, Wilkes-Barre Area 76: At WBA, the Black Knights won two of the three relay races to pull away from the Wolfpack.

Carlee Monko and Hannah Kuhar each won twice to lead Lehman to the victory.

Ruqayya Derec was victorious twice for the Wolfpack.

Wyoming Area 100, Tunkhannock 82: At Wyoming Area, Tunkhannock won seven of the eight individual races, but it was Wyoming Area that came away with the victory.

Annie Bonnice, Miranda Anderson and Kaitlyn Keown each won twice for Tunkhannock.

Ameriana Walker was the lone individual winner for the Warriors.

Boys wrestling

Tunkhannock 59, Mountain View 6: At Tunkhannock, Gunnar Faux, Moses Montero and Jordan Milne each won individual weights as the Tigers beat Mountain View in nonleague wrestling.

Ada Chamberlain won by fall for Mountain View.
