The Cirencester History Festival will take place from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, November 1, 2026, marking its third edition with events across 17 venues in the heart of the town.

Designed to engage audiences of all ages, the festival will offer a diverse programme including workshops, films, family activities and more.

Jess Yarrow, festival producer, said: “The ethos is clear: making history accessible, alive and relevant for all ages and backgrounds.

“For 2026, the festival promises to go beyond expectations once again.

“We’re inviting visitors to join us as we explore the past, challenge the present, and craft the future.”

Building on strong attendance and positive feedback from previous years, organisers hope to further establish Cirencester as a destination for cultural tourism.

The festival is a collaborative effort powered by the Corinium Museum, New Brewery Arts, Barn Theatre and many volunteers, businesses and organisations from the surrounding community.

Cirencester itself becomes the stage, with historical buildings transforming into immersive spaces for storytelling, debate and discovery.

Audiences have praised the festival’s vibrant atmosphere, professional organisation and sense of excitement throughout the town.

Headline speakers and events will be announced in spring 2026, with the full programme scheduled for release on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Tickets will be available through the Cirencester History Festival website.

The festival also aims to be accessible, offering subsidised youth tickets, free family events, and a small programme of activities for charity partners.

Organisers are encouraging members of the public to support the event by becoming a Patron or Friend, providing financial backing that ensures the long-term sustainability of the festival.

Supporters will receive priority booking and additional benefits.

To stay updated on announcements and ticket releases, residents can join the festival’s mailing list at www.cirencesterhistoryfestival.org.
