When it comes to regularly discussed topics on The View the Epstein files have been a big talking point for quite some time now.
The panel has regularly taken aim at President Donald Trump over the release of the documents.
However, things have now taken an interesting turn, as the latest email releases from the DOJ, have seen some of the hosts of the The View, named themselves. There is no suggestion that the hosts are guilty of any wrongdoing.
Whoopi Goldberg had the most mentions, with 21 references, while co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin is a close second with 20, and Joy Behar has just three mentions, with Ana Navarro mentioned only twice.
Meanwhile, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines, have escaped being mentioned as of the latest release, which came on January 30.
One mention in particular of Whoopi relates to her requiring a private jet to fly her to a charity event in Monaco. The exchange, dated may 8 2013, reads, “Whoopi Goldberg needs a plane to get to Monaco. John Lennon’s charity is paying for it. They don’t want to charter so they are looking for private owners.”
The email then shares further details of the event and discusses financial benefits. It says, “The scheduled jet fell through yesterday and they are scrambling to get Whoopi over to Monaco. I am sure the jet owner could attend the fete and get fuel reimbursed (otherwise, if it is to be paid for, we would love to know the costs so we can factor it in for John. Obviously the more money we keep, the more goes directly to the charity.)’ Would you want to offer the GII?”
The email has the sender blocked out and is addressed to “Larry V” and “JE Jail.” The attempt to arrange travel for Whoopi may come as a surprise to many who have heard her very vocal critique of President Trump for his own involvement with the late sex offender.
Whoopi recently slammed the Trump administration over the newly released batch of documents, which includes thousands of emails where his associates and victims are named. She called the failure to redact victims’ names “a middle finger” to those involved.
Speaking on The View on February 2 she said, “You didn’t care enough to redact the names of the victims. You knew you were releasing it. Why did you not redact the victims’ names?”
She continued, “That’s a middle finger to them, saying, ‘We don’t care, we don’t care what happens to you.’” She then urged viewers to take it into consideration when voting during the midterm elections this fall.
She added, “Just remember when you’re voting, who you’re voting for and where they stood on this particular issue, as well as everything else that we’re dealing with.”
