The search for Nancy Guthrie is moving forward, with “new leads” confirmed.
On Sunday, February 1, the 84-year-old mother of Today’s Savannah Guthrie went missing from her home just north of Tucson, Arizona. She was last seen at the property on January 31 at around 9:30 p.m. Police have now confirmed they are expanding their investigation to include new leads.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced the news on Monday, noting, “Many of you observed an active presence at the Guthrie residences over the weekend. That activity will continue tonight and into tomorrow as part of the ongoing investigative process, including expanding the search and following up on new leads.
“This is all part of the investigative process, as the search for Nancy expands and new leads come in,” he mentioned.
The authorities have waded through “thousands of calls” through “multiple tip lines.”
Concern first grew Sunday morning when Nancy failed to attend her local mass. The Pima County Sheriff’s office has since deemed her home a “crime scene” after discovering concerning evidence inside the property.
Savannah broke her silence on the matter on Monday, February 2. She took to Instagram to say, “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him.”
The host added, “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”
Savannah has been absent from work since the news was announced. She has also pulled out of hosting NBC’s 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, which began in Italy on Friday, February 6.
The anchor is currently in Arizona with her siblings, aiding the search for her mother.
Savannah has remained persistent at finding her mother, with her latest plea posted on Monday night.
She shared a video to Instagram, saying her family believes Nancy is “is still out there.” She alos urged her followers to report anyything “strange” to the police. The anchor ended the clip with a plea, “We are at an hour of desperation and we need your help.”
