Savannah Guthrie has issued a desperate plea to her followers on social media as she shared images of the subject of interest in her mother Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping and wrote, “someone out there recognizes this person.”
Sharing the video to Facebook as she urged her followers to help the Guthrie family in their search for Nancy, savannah said, “Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home. Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900.”
Savannah, 54, also shared the four still images released by the FBI of the subject as she again reiterated, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.”
Multiple images of the subject show what appears to be a masked man tampering with the Nest camera at her home. The series of black-and-white pictures show the subject standing in the doorway of Nancy’s Tucson, Arizona, home, wearing what appears to be jeans, a zip-up sweatshirt, leather gloves, and sneakers.
The subject also appeared to have something in his left hand. “It does appear to be a gun”, NBC News correspondent Tom Winter said.
Pima County Sheriff’s department said in a statement, “Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie‘s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors, including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.
“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”
Nancy, 84, vanished from her home in the early hours of February 1, with law enforcement convinced she was abducted after being dropped home by family at around 9.48 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, after having dinner with her daughter and son-in-law at their home.
FBI Director Kash Patel shared the images and footage on social media, urging anyone with information to contact the FBI.
He wrote, “New images in the search for Nancy Guthrie: Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices.”
