For those wanting to read the latest on the Andrew-Epstein scandal, I’ve written two pieces in recent days:

I’ve refrained from putting paywalls on either post, so please share and/or subscribe if you value such content.

On Monday, Prince William started a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, at the request of the British government. It’s one of those “heir to the throne” trips that his father did so often during his time as Prince of Wales.

In addition to promoting better trade and diplomatic ties between Britain and Saudi Arabia, Prince William also gets to promote some of his own interests. On Tuesday, he saw an environmentally sustainable urban regeneration program in the capital of Riyadh, then talked to women about their increasingly prominent roles in society, which includes sports. His last engagement of the day was at an e-sports venue, where he learned about how the industry is generating jobs for the tech-literate young population of the country.

William and Kate visit the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace on February 5, 2026 (Photo: Andrew Parsons / Kensington Palace)

In late January, Sarah Mullally, the Bishop of London, was formally confirmed to be the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury (fun fact: within the worldwide Anglican Communion, she is now known simply as “Canterbury.”) She is the first woman to lead the Church of England.

Shortly afterward, she went to Buckingham Palace to pay her homage to King Charles III, who is Defender of the Faith of the Church of England. As Benjamin Lewis pointed out on social media, the homage is quite fantastic:

I, Dame Sarah Elisabeth having been elected, confirmed and consecrated Lord Archbishop of Canterbury do hereby declare that Your Majesty is the only supreme governor of this Your realm in spiritual and ecclesiastical things as well as in temporal and that no foreign prelate or potentate has any jurisdiction within this realm and I acknowledge that I hold the said archbishopric as well the spiritualities as the temporalities thereof only of Your Majesty and for the same temporalities I do my homage presently to Your Majesty.
So help me God.
God save King Charles!

After that visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales paid a visit to the archbishop at her new home, Lambeth Palace in London. As the nurse-turned-priest was the Bishop of London for eight years, the royals know her well.

On March 25, William will attend her installation as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, undertaking another “heir to the throne duty.”
