Prince William started his final day in Saudi Arabia by attending a wildlife conservation in the country’s Medina region.
The Prince of Wales attended AIUIa, a 7000-year-old archaeological area, the region is being developed as a world-class heritage destination.
The project has been led by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister for Culture and Governor for the Royal Commission for AIUIa.
William’s first stop of the tour saw him attend the Sharaan Nature Reserve, where he met with rangers and heard about the work they do to protect and conserve wildlife.

He was driven around the reserve by Bassim Al Balawi, the Lead Ranger, who was born in AIUa and made three stops on the journey to focus on wildlife conservation, land restoration, and ecology.
The Sharaan Nature Reserve covers 1,540km² of desert, mountains, and former rangeland. It is one of AIUIa’s six nature reserves, which cover over 50% of AIUIa County, and aims to restore 65,000 hectares of degraded wasteland.
The reserve focuses on the rebalancing of fragile ecosystems as well as preserving and reintroducing native species.
William will stop at the Alqaliba Mountain Viewpoint, where he met with a group of Saudi Rangers who shared an overview of the project with the prince and their commitment to the local community.
The second stop saw the Prince of Wales hear about the land restoration programme from the RCU’s Habitat and Restoration team.

The final stop of the outing saw William stop at the Dancing Rocks formation and learnt about the conservation initiatives to protect the critically endangered Arabian Leopard, as well as reintroducing native species to the wildlife.
The visit followed a busy second day of the vital trade tour, which saw the future king asked about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor whilst abroad.
A journalist called out to William while he was attending a training session for girls’ football in the country.
The reporter asked the royal: “Sir, to what extent do you think the Royal Family has done enough around the Andrew and Epstein scandal?”
The question was unanswered by the heir to the throne.
It is unclear whether William actually heard the question, given that it was shouted across a considerable distance.

The day also saw William try his hand at a video game as he played Rocket League as part of his visit to Boulevard City in Riyadh.
The Prince of Wales learnt about Saudi Arabia’s gaming ecosystem and met players from two of the nation’s most popular professional teams, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds.
