James Van Der Beek, who grew up onscreen on the teen drama “Dawson’s Creek” and grew into an actor who was often in comedies and dramas — and never afraid to poke fun at his celebrity — has died at 48 years old after a battle with colorectal cancer.
In an Parade interview last year with Van Der Beek, he spoke about moving to Texas during the pandemic and reassessing his life, health and career.
