The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin gave birth on Tuesday, February 10, according to Whoopi Goldberg, who shared a heartfelt message for the first-time mother.
“The first thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband Justin on the birth of their baby boy,” Whoopi said at the top of the Wednesday, February 11 episode. “He weighed in at 7lbs and 19 and a half inches. Both mom and baby are doing well. I’m sure they’re tired, but they’re doing well.”
Earlier in the week, Whoopi explained Alyssa’s absence from the popular talk show, joking, “I don’t know if you saw the show yesterday, but it turns out Alyssa was right about Bad Bunny’s halftime show putting her into labor. It put her into labor. She’s at the hospital right now,” the 70-year-old actress said as the audience cheered.
“And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive. Yeah, it’s kind of fabulous,” Whoopi said.
After Whoopi announced the arrival of Alyssa and Justin’s baby, fans flocked to social media to wish the new parents and their family well, with comments like, “Many many congratulations Alyssa! Sending best to u and the baby! Enjoy the bliss,” and “Congratulations to Alyssa & Hubby to your wonderful blessing. Welcome to Justin Patrick Griffin, Jr.”
Another viewer wrote, “Congratulations Alyssa and to the Aunties at The View!!”

With the former White House staffer on maternity leave, a rotation of guest hosts will take over for the conservative-leaning panelist, including one controversial pick that has stirred up backlash from the show’s loyal viewers.
Temporarily taking over for Alyssa will be Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Abby Huntsman, Amanda Carpenter, Sheryl Underwood, Whitney Cummings, and Savannah Chrisley. Fans and haters of The View alike were not happy about Savannah, a 28-year-old reality star and known MAGA supporter, who is slated to host the week of February 16.
She appeared in the show Chrisley Knows Best with her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were pardoned by Donald Trump last year after being convicted on fraud and tax evasion charges in 2022
