You oughta know Alanis Morissette loves being a mom.
While the “Ironic” singer was getting inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, she assured that her kids Ever, 14, Onyx, 9, Winter, 6, with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway, are still far and above the honor.
“Archetypically, ‘Mom’ is number one for me,” she told E! News in an exclusive interview ahead of the ceremony at the Marriott Maquis in New York June 11, “and ‘writer’ is number two, so for that to be marked tonight, it really warms my heart.”
And while Morissette considers family her crowning achievement, she also shared how much it meant to receive acclaim after inspiring a new generation of writers.
“Any of us writers, women, non-gendered, binary identifying, men frankly,” she continued. “There’s a lot of men who I connect with on this level. I think it’s those of us who are very sensitive and those of us who are empaths, we unite in a very quiet introverted way, and a lot of writers are introverts.”
