Emma Slater and Alan Bersten are going strong as they detailed what they love about each other.

The two Dancing with the Stars dancing professionals partnered with Raising Cane’s and did a pre-Valentine’s Day “shift” at their Global Flagship restaurant in New York City on Tuesday, February 10. Emma, 37, and Alan, 31, served fans hand-battered, cooked-to-order Chicken Fingers as they celebrated Valentine’s Day

The real-life couple showcased some sweet PDA at the holiday-themed event as they playfully reenacted a Lady and the Tramp moment with a crinkle-cut fry, danced on the fast-casual restaurant’s counter, and cheered with Cane’s cup. Emma and Alan spoke with the Daily Express US about their favorite things about each other.

“My favorite thing about Alan is his ‘Life of the Party’ energy. I love that we laugh together. He’s very funny, and he always goes for a light-hearted approach, which is amazing to me. I think it’s a real gift to be that positive and uplifting. So I really, I really love that about him,” Emma said.

“I love many things about Emma. One, I love how big her dreams are, how she has many aspirations and achieves them, and how caring she is toward people. And she’s very supportive and wants everyone to feel amazing. So sometimes I feel like she’ll put other people above herself just to make them happy,” Alan said. 

“But it’s just such a beautiful thing to see somebody just caring about everybody, just making sure everyone feels good,” he added.

It’s not clear when Emma and Alan began officially dating, but they had dating rumors in 2024. The pair confirmed their relationship in April 2025, when they shared a big kiss onstage at a Dancing With the Stars Live tour stop in Illinois. The viral video showed the dancing pros moving to Donna Summer’s 1978 song Last Dance, as they smooched each other mid-routine. 

Before finding love with each other, Emma was married to another DWTS dancing pro, Sasha Farber. Emma and Sasha, 40, first dated from 2011 to 2014 before getting back together in 2015. 

The former couple got married in March 2018 and separated in April 2022. Emma filed for divorce in February 2023 and finalized their divorce in May 2024. Emma and Sasha remain on good terms and maintain a friendship following their divorce.

Alan, on the other hand, publicly dated his DWTS Season 27 partner, model Alexis Ren. The 29-year-old had hinted at the two being over when a fan asked if they were ‘done’ on Instagram.

“Feelings aren’t black and white, and neither is life,” Alexis replied. “We’re focused on our careers and growing as individuals. He’s an amazing person, and I’m grateful he came into my life. He’s on his own journey, and I respect that.”

Both Emma and Alan are part of the current Dancing with the Stars Live tour and will perform in Newark, New Jersey, on Valentine’s Day. At a press conference during the Raising Cane’s event, they discussed their plans for the romantic holiday. 

“I love that we get to dance together in front of a crowd on Valentine’s Day this year. It feels really special,” Alan said about their Valentine’s Day tour stop in New Jersey. “We even have a number together, which makes it even better.”

Emma gave a bit of insight into what they’ll be doing outside of the show.“Nothing says Valentine’s Day like watching us dance,” she said. “We’ll probably find a coffee shop, sit, chat, and decompress. I’m romantic, though. I already bought him chocolates.”
