Country star Jelly Roll is being honored with a coveted humanitarian award despite recent “MAGA” backlash after the Grammy Awards.
The 41-year-old artist is being recognized at the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, Tennessee, by the the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB). At the upcoming ceremony, the Save Me hitmaker will be presented the 2026 Artist Humanitarian Award for his commitment to community, mental health, and addiction recovery throughout his music career.
After delivering his faith-based acceptance speech, some critics branded him a “performative Christian,” an accusation his wife passionately condemned on her podcast.
According to the official CRS website, the award Jelly Roll will be presented next month “is given to a Country Artist whose philanthropic efforts have significantly improved the effectiveness and impact of the causes they support. This individual not only lends their name and influence but also dedicates their time, talent, and resources.”
Some past recipients of this award include country music legends Eric Church, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kenny Chesney, among others.
Last year Eric and Luke were both honored following their contributions to Hurricane Helene relief. In an effort to raise money to rebuild after the devastating damage the pair held the benefit concert ‘Concert for Carolina’ in which they generated over $24 million.
Concerning this year’s selection, the Country Radio Broadcasters wrote in a statement, “This year’s award recognizes the triple Grammy-winning artist, whose deeply personal and far-reaching commitment to addiction recovery, mental health, and community extends far beyond his music.”
The Country Radio Seminar (CRS) ceremony is being held at the Omni Nashville Hotel in Nashville from March 18-20. The annual event brings together country radio and music industry professionals for educational sessions, panel discussions, and live performance.
This comes after Jelly Roll’s generous contributions to the community. Some of his many contributions include raising $500,000 for ACM Lifting Lives, donating $250,000 to build a juvenile detention center studio, and making frequent visits to detention centers.
Such of Jelly Roll’s charitable donations focus on the Nashville, Tennesee, area and are catered towards at-risk youth, addiction, and homelesses. One staple of Jelly Roll’s journey in the music industry has been a message about redemption as he is a convicted felon who served time for robbery and drug possession and was also in juvenile detention.
