Amanda Seyfried “Didn’t Know” She Was An EP On ‘The Housemaid’ Until Filming Began: “One Of Those Vanity Credits”

With The Housemaid nearing $360M worldwide, Amanda Seyfried recently admitted the extent of her work on the Paul Feig film.

Despite being credited as an executive producer on the feature adaptation of Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel, the Oscar nominee confessed she “didn’t do sh*t to make that movie” beyond her onscreen portrayal of Nina Winchester.

“Can I tell you something? I’m a producer on it,” she noted on The Graham Norton Show. “But I didn’t know until three weeks in, when I saw the call sheet, and I was like, ‘Executive producer? I didn’t sign up for that.’”

Seyfried said she then called a producer on the film, who informed her that her agent negotiated the credit on her behalf. “And I was like, ‘This really better be a hit.’ It was one of those vanity credits, ’cause I didn’t do sh*t to make that movie.
