Sarah Ferguson moved in with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor 12 years after they finalised their divorce for one bizarre reason. The 66-year-old officially moved into Royal Lodge in 2008, four years after Andrew officially moved in.
The former Duchess of York had previously been renting Dolphin House in Surrey for a year beforehand, with a disaster at the home leading her to live with her ex-husband. A small fire occurred at the home in January 2008, believed to have been started by a candle left burning in the bathroom.
The 66-year-old is believed not to have been home at the time, but due to the damage, Sarah was unable to return to the property, so she later moved in with Andrew.
Since evicting Royal Lodge last month, due to the latest revelations in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, Andrew and Sarah have gone their separate ways once again.
Andrew, 65, is now residing at King Charles’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. He will move into the five-bedroom Marsh Farm by the beginning of April, due to ongoing renovations.
It remains unclear where Sarah is now living, although some reports suggest that she may move to Portugal to be close to their youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie.
Much like Andrew, who reportedly moved out in the middle of the night to avoid being seen, Sarah is said to have been “smuggled out” of Royal Lodge last month.
Sarah – who officially divorced Andrew in 1996 – reportedly snuck in secretly, and was “smuggled” in and out by car while “lying prone on the back seat”.
Speaking of their final days at the mansion, insiders have suggested that disgraced Andrew spent his last months at Royal Lodge “ranting to himself”.
Speaking of his ex-wife, Fergie is said to have confided in staff and friends at a hidden bar known as The Doghouse.
