Ex-Prince Andrew ‘Will Always Embarrass’ Royal Family, Prison Time Will Allow Them Chance to ‘Regroup’

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could face prison time if charged and convicted — and according to Rob Shuter, brother King Charles III wouldn’t actually mind.

“If Andrew walks, he’ll feel vindicated and untouchable,” one insider told Shuter of the 66-year-old, who was arrested on Thursday, February 19, on suspicion of misconduct in public office after being accused of sharing confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein related to his role as a trade envoy.

“That makes him more emboldened, more reckless, and far more dangerous to the institution,” the insider continued in a story posted on Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Monday, February 23.

But the king, 77, and other royals “quietly hope” the former prince, who has long denied any wrongdoing in connection to the late convicted sex offender, will actually have to face consequences, sources told Shuter.

Putting Andrew behind bars would give Charles “the cover to finish the slimming-down he’s always wanted” and cut off his brother completely, a second insider pointed out.

“Prison contains the chaos,” a palace source agreed. “It forces a hard stop. The family can regroup without constantly bracing for the next humiliation.”

“No one wants to say it publicly,” a senior royal watcher told Shuter. “But Andrew will always embarrass them. He won’t change. Jail removes the oxygen — and the obligation to bankroll him.”
