‘Scrubs’ Goes Back To Basics As Revival Gives Original Title Sequence Slight Update

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence confirmed to Deadline that the revival picks up as if the original series ended with the Season 8 finale, and the opening sequence is evidence of that — with a twist.

The title sequence for the revival, which you can see above, is set to “Superman” by Lazlo Bane, which was the opening theme of Seasons 1-8. The “Med School” branded Season 9 used a cover of the song by Waz for its title sequence.

As they have done in previous seasons, in the opening, John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff), Christopher Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), now joined by a new class of interns, each walks toward the show’s signature “Scrubs” X-ray image.
