See Yoctangee Park as crews continue work on upgrades this February
Yoctangee Park construction continues. The project is scheduled for completion by October 2026.
If you’ve felt a little off lately, I’m blaming the snow. There’s only so many gray skies, icy windshields, and “is that black ice?” moments a person can handle before it starts messing with their mental state. This snow was cute for about 12 minutes, but I am over it. We made it and February is finally over. Goodbye, February, you were exhausting. March, let’s see what kind of chaos you’ve got for us because after the Punch the Monkey saga, my emotions are shot.
Feb. 26
The Ross County Park District invites rock enthusiasts of all ages to the Geology Club at 6 p.m. at Buzzard’s Roost, 514 Red Bird Lane. If you have ever been fascinated by molten rock, shifting minerals, and the millions of years written into the earth beneath your feet, this is your kind of gathering. Participants will meet in the lower parking lot and walk a half mile up the drive to the Nature Center for an evening of hands-on exploration, conversation about geologic current events, and a chance to examine and share mineral samples. Guests are encouraged to bring pieces from their own collections to show and discuss. The program is open to all ages, though minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Make your way to Stockroom601 in Jackson for trivia with me at 7 p.m., where teams can compete for Stockroom gift cards, $50 for first place and $25 for second. Locally, The Cozy Inn Bar & Grill has Music Bingo at 6:30 p.m. It is free to play and the kitchen will be open until 8 p.m. Cameron Mitchell will be hosting MUSIC BINGO at Fifty West Brewing Company at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 27
Mark Thacker takes the taproom stage at Old Capitol Brewing from 7 to 10 p.m. At Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Joshua Ray will be taking requests during his solo acoustic set starting at 6:30 p.m. Na zdravie Vineyard and Winery hosts Emotional Jammage at 7 p.m. In Circleville, local rock singer/songwriter Jacob Stevens returns to Zwicker House performing a variety of music from Neil Young and Tom Petty to your 90s favorites from 7 to 10 p.m.
Feb. 28
Wagner’s Roadhouse welcomes Nashville standout Sam Grow for a night of country. A singer, songwriter and producer, he has performed multiple times on the Grand Ole Opry and toured nationwide for more than a decade. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the opening act at 7:45 p.m. Grow takes the stage at 9 p.m. This is a 21 and over event. No refunds will be issued for this show. Tickets available on Eventbrite. Cory Breth returns to The Page for an acoustic set from 8 to 10 p.m. Shawn Avery takes the stage at Kings Inn Tavern at 7 p.m. Catch Dirt Season’s debut performance with The Sun Movers from 7 to 10 p.m. at Na zdravie Vineyard and Winery. Preston & Jason head to Alibi’s Bar & Grill at 8 p.m. and in Circleville, Bobby & The Barnburners start at Zwicker House at 7 p.m.

The Crosskeys Tavern and DJ Roush host music trivia starting at 6:30 p.m. Come out and see if you can name the tune.
