The Furman University Department of Music will present a guest artist recital with hornist Anna Eberwine Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Anna Eberwine is a classical French horn artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a versatile musician who has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles. Her passion for music began at a young age and has led her to pursue a career as a freelancer. She has received an Artist Diploma from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from Indiana University- Jacobs School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music from The Ohio State University. She is currently pursuing Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Cincinnati- College-Conservatory of Music.
Eberwine has studied with many renowned horn players including Margaret Tung, Molly Norcross, Richard Seraphinoff, Bruce Henniss, Dale Clevenger, Andrew Bain, and Thomas Jöstlein. Eberwine regularly performs as a substitute with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Brevard Philharmonic. She has previously performed with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra and Westerville Symphony Orchestra. She recently performed in Tennessee and North Carolina as part of the World Ballet’s tour of Swan Lake.
Eberwine has also attended prestigious summer festivals including Scotia Festival of Music, Miami Music Festival, and Cividale Music Festival in Cividale, Italy. A lover of chamber music, Eberwine is an active member of Freeway Brass, a brass quintet based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has also been a semi-finalist of the Winstead Music Competition. She has a deep passion for performing and giving back to the community.
