NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Britt Lower is one of the stars of the hit Apple TV+ show, “Severance.”
The show continues to rack up Emmy awards, and recently, Lower won an Emmy in the “Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series” category.
WGNO’s Kenny Lopez talked with her about her mind-boggling role.
Lower plays Helly and Helena on “Severance.”
“There are a lot of meta layers, being a part of the show,” she said.
“Severance,” the Emmy award-winning Sci-Fi thriller, tells the story of employees who undergo a surgical procedure to split their memories between work life and personal life.
At work, they are “innies,” and outside they are “outies,” so it’s a tale of two lives.
“Parching out the different paths of one’s self, the experience of our lives, you know would you opt to numb out for part of the day or skip over the uncomfortable parts of life, heartbreak, hard work, going to the dentist? Are we who we are because we move through pain and suffering with a new understanding of ourselves?” she said.

Currently, there are two seasons of “Severance” streaming on Apple TV+, so how much time goes into making each episode?
“I will say filming the show is a cinematic process, like filming a movie, each episode is like the amount of days to film an independent film,” she said.
She’s recently been nominated for “Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series” at the SAG-Aftra Awards.
Season 3 of “Severance” is now in development.
