Princess Catherine reportedly once had a strict royal rule that she would follow when it came to designer goods. The Princess of Wales, who married into the Royal Family almost 15 years ago, has reportedly always insisted on paying for clothes.
This was especially the case with Donna Ida, with the founder having revealed to the Daily Mail that Catherine has always insisted on paying for her jeans. It is believed the princess is the brand’s most prominent customer.
While there is no doubt Catherine could probably have had the jeans for free, it is believed the royal never accepted this kind of freebie from the brand.
“It shows that they want it and support your brand and it’s not just product being chucked around. The royals are very conscious like that, and they would always want to pay for things and support brands. The royals are great.”
While this may be a rule Catherine follows, it is believed Meghan Markle has not always been the same.
As reported by The Mirror, the author claimed: “She won a reputation among the marketers of luxury brands of being warmly interested in receiving bags of designer swag.”
The author also made the suggestion that Meghan sent a message to PRs after she married Prince Harry through one of her new team members. Brown claimed that a member of Meghan’s new team wrote to a publicist to say: “Make sure [the publicist] knows that she can still send me anything. She’s always been one of the good ones.”
Meghan has never commented on this.
