Katie Holmes is dressing for the weather we all want.
While her home city, New York City, deals with feet upon feet of snow, the actor escaped to sunny California, where she gave us a peek at her spring wardrobe.
Earlier this week, the Dawson’s Creek alum was pictured walking around San Diego in a breezy, happy look composed of timeless wardrobe staples: a salmon-colored T-shirt (a little worn out, just how she likes them) and a white maxi skirt. The skirt had horizontal stripes and frilly eyelet details at the hem. It reached down to Holmes’s calves, pairing perfectly with her white-and-beige flats.
As we know, Holmes’s ballet-flat closet is like a bottomless Mary Poppins bag, with the actor seemingly repping a different pair every time we see her out and about. This time, her pretty, textured shoes were courtesy of Vivaia—specifically the brad’s newly released square-toe Margo Flats 3.0. Holmes wore the flats in the label’s yellow apricot quilt colorway. They retail for a cool $129.
A bit of a hippy at heart, Holmes rounded out her off-duty look with a paisley bandana in a romantic sky-blue, which she wrapped around her head, plus oversize black sunglasses. She carried a fresh bouquet to make us long for warmer days.
Holmes previously spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about her love of fashion and the low-key pieces she cannot live without. “I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me,” she said.
