Bruce Campbell revealed Monday that he has been diagnosed with an incurable but “treatable” cancer, sharing on social media that he is canceling future fan events to pursue treatment.
“Treatment needs and professional obligations don’t always go hand-in-hand,” the actor said in an X post.
Campbell has long been known as something of a Comic-Con king, frequently attending various conventions to meet fans of his most iconic roles. The actor noted that he regretted having to cancel future appearances, but that he wants to spend the summer recuperating as much as possible, with the intent to travel with his new film, “Ernie & Emma” (which he wrote and directed), in the fall.
