The World Baseball Classic ended with two of the best players in the world facing off. In 2026, history could repeat itself.

While Mike Trout won’t be able to face Shohei Ohtani this time around, even more elite major league talent is playing in the tournament, from Aaron Judge and Paul Skenes to Juan Soto and Ohtani once again.

Japan is the reigning champion, but the United States, Dominican Republic and more are loaded up with MLB experience as 20 countries chase history.

Here’s a complete look at every active MLB player on a World Baseball Classic roster for 2026.

29 of the 30 roster spots on the United States and Dominican Republic rosters are taken up by active MLB players. The only exceptions are future Hall of Fame starter Clayton Kershaw for the USA after his retirement and reliever Albert Abreu for the Dominican Republic. Abreu last pitched in the majors in 2023.

Venezuela is the only other team with more than 20 active MLB players, followed by Italy (18) and Mexico (17).

Brazil and Czechia are the only two teams without an active MLB player.

The Red Sox led the way 13 players in the World Baseball Classic, so spring training is a bit lighter these days for Boston. The Royals are next with 11, followed by the Rockies with 10.

The Rockies, despite their ineptitude in 2025, will be represented on eight different teams during the tournament.

The Reds are the least represented team at the World Baseball Classic with Eugenio Suarez as their only major-leaguer on a roster.
