Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, believes Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh — the wife of Prince Edward — is likely taking Sarah Ferguson’s downfall the hardest. “I think some people like Sophie may feel betrayed,” he told Daily Express.

The relatives were photographed hugging during Easter celebrations at Windsor in 2025. “I think there may be people in the wider royal family who didn’t know what was going on who may feel that their sympathies were abused, but that’s what Sarah does.
