LOS ANGELES — Nominated for two Academy Awards — Best International Film and Best Sound — “Sirât” is the story of a father and his son searching for Mar — daughter and sister — in a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco.
Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, the father and son duo hand out Mar’s photo again and gain. As hope fades, the two push through and follow a group of ravers heading to one last party in the desert.
Their journey through the wilderness forces the group to confront their limits.
“Sirât” stars Segi Lopez as Luis, and his young son Esteban is played by Bruno Nunez Arjona.
The film was the winner of the Jury Prize at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
