Even after 50 years in country music, Reba McEntire isn’t slowing down. The country icon is marking the milestone with an inventive new music project while gearing up to film Season 3 of Happy’s Place.
Reba McEntire Is Celebrating 5 Decades in Music With New Releases
To commemorate 50 years in the industry, McEntire is rolling out monthly “music capsules,” each featuring one brand-new song paired with five tracks from different eras of her career. The next one, titled Ring, Ring, drops on July 24.
McEntire has explained that she chose songs for the capsules that “touch my heart.”
During the July 22 Daily Variety podcast, McEntire admitted she thought the concept of the music capsules was “genius.” The entertainer credits her manager, Justin McIntosh, for developing the concept.
“I thought…it’s genius to be able to bring a new song to the fans, along with five songs that are in the catalog,” McEntire explained.
‘Happy’s Place’ Season 3 Begins Filming Soon

In addition to recording new music for her fans, McEntire is set to start filming another season of her NBC series, Happy’s Place. Season 3 of Happy’s Place will consist of 18 episodes, and the beloved entertainer revealed that filming begins on August 12.
McEntire gushed over the series. “It’s great writing, great actors. Rex Linn, her fiancé, and I love to be on the show together for one thing, and then getting to work again with Melissa Peterman…”

Peterman and McEntire first became friends while working together on the singer’s earlier series, Reba, and they’ve stayed besties all these years.
She said everyone associated with the show is family, “and we treat them like family.”
“Everybody knows that when you walk on [the] Happy’s Place set, we’re going to have a good time, you’re going to be treated well.”
As for any teasers about what lies ahead, McEntire admitted that she couldn’t reveal much. If she did, she joked, “they’d probably choke the liver out of me.”
One fun tidbit McEntire was able to share is that she’s been told there will be a lot more physical comedy in Season 3 of Happy’s Place.
She quipped, “I don’t know how much physical comedy he’s talking about, but I’ll give her my whole college try.”
While McEntire wouldn’t reveal who will appear this season, she promised viewers there are “some great new guest stars” on the way. McEntire’s latest teasers give everybody yet another layer of anticipation as Happy’s Place prepares to return.
