Bianca Censori is used to making headlines for wearing very little.
So, it was a surprise to see the Australian wearing a modest outfit as she appeared at court for Kanye West’s civil trial this week.
The Melbourne architect and wife of West arrived at Stanley Most Courthouse on Thursday to give evidence in the trial over a disputed renovation project on West’s former Malibu mansion.
West’s ex-project manager, Tony Saxon, claims he is owed more than $US1 million for unpaid wages, dangerous working conditions and wrongful termination during his work on the beach house.
Censori, who was the lead architect on the project, was covered up in a black long-sleeved cardigan and a black pencil skirt — a far cry from her signature barely-there attire.
She had her hair pulled back into a tight bun, wore glasses and silver high heels.
It comes after Judge Brock T. Hammond told the court in February that people in the room “must comply with the basic dress code” or risk being banned, according to the celebrity.land.
He also forbade sunglasses, hats and “drama” in his courtroom.
While testifying, according to Rolling Stone, Censori confirmed to the jury she has power of attorney over West.
“I can sign things on his behalf,” she reportedly said.
According to Saxon, he was employed to renovate West’s $US57 million home in California, but the job became more difficult than he first thought.
Saxon alleged that during his time working for the Power hitmaker he experienced harsh working conditions including 16 hour workdays, animosity from West, and suffering a back injury.
The lawsuit filed against West also alleged that Saxon was forced to sleep on-site in “makeshift conditions” on concrete floors without a bed.
West denies these allegations and filed his own separate lawsuit against Saxon in January.
The trial is expected to continue for about 12 days.
