In a candid interview whilst on an engagement in Ireland back in 2005, Sarah Ferguson once made a shocking confession about her relationship with her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
The 10-word comment highlighted her approach to parenting and public life, aiming to be authentic rather than adhering to a “perfect” image often expected within the Royal Family.
In an interview with The Irish Independent in 2005, while discussing her life as a mother, her public image, and her work, Sarah Ferguson stated: “They know I am not pretending to be an angel. I am just being real and guiding them in the way I can.”
In November 2005, Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, visited Sligo, Ireland, for a charity engagement where she emotionally described how Ireland “gave her back her life” following her divorce from the then Prince Andrew.
At the start of the engagement, due to heavy fog, Sarah’s helicopter could not land at the hotel and was forced to divert to Sligo Airport in Strandhill. She ended up taking a taxi to the event, arriving over an hour behind schedule.

She was there to launch the Daisychain Charitable Foundation, offering relief to families living with disabilities.
Sarah had said had been drawn to the Foundation because of how lucky she felt to have healthy children. She stated, “I cannot imagine what it must be like for parents of children who have 24-hour special needs. This is offering time off for parents so they can become strong and invigorated.”
A spokesperson for the Duchess noted she had previously expressed regret for her association with Epstein and explained the email was sent while she was under “fear” and pressure from him.
