A royal expert has slammed a “revolting” message Sarah Ferguson sent convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in a freshly surfaced email.
The former duchess has been under fire over her connection to the disgraced financier, a man she considered a “friend” and a “brother” according to the latest disclosure from the US Department of Justice.
Now, a royal expert has slammed an 11-word message Ms Ferguson sent to Epstein that has previously flown under the radar.

In one email, she referred to the sex offender as: “My dear spectacular and special friend Jeffrey, you are a legend.” She then added: “I am so proud of you”.
Jo Elvin, the former Editor-in-Chief of Glamour UK and You Magazine, told the Palace Confidential podcast that the message made her unwell.
“I mean, I just want to be sick. It’s a convicted sex offender she’s writing to. It’s hard to believe that she cared at all about his crimes,” Ms Elvin said.
Richard Eden, a royal commentator for the Daily Mail, spoke alongside Ms Elvin on the podcast and explained how this email, amongst the trove of others contained in the recent Epstein files release, had shifted his once favourable view of the ex-duchess.
“Yeah, I found it all quite hard to take because I’ve always sort of—I wouldn’t say been a supporter—but I’ve quite admired Sarah in the past, particularly for the way she’s bounced back from scandal,” he said.
“She’s always been very positive and that sort of thing. But stuff like this is just revolting.
“And you know, it’s the way that they were just so eager for him to be released from prison as well.
“There were some other details from the Epstein files that we’ve seen this week in which Andrew was talking about celebrating with him in Paris—celebrating his release from prison.”
Sarah Ferguson did keep up her correspondence with Epstein while he was imprisoned in the late 2000s for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
On Epstein’s dime, she also flew to New York City with her two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, to meet him after he was released in July 2009.
According to the emails, she brought her daughters to a lunch with Epstein, and also asked his management to upgrade her flights home. Epstein refused the request.
The recent commentary comes as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor faces an ongoing investigation after his arrest on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
He spent his 66th birthday being questioned for 11 hours before he was released.
In the weeks leading up to the arrest, Ms Ferguson had been moving boxes from the Royal Lodge before she and the disgraced former prince were officially given the boot.
Since then, it is understood she has been holed up in a luxe wellness retreat in Zurich, Switzerland, lying low and plotting a financial comeback.
Her charity, Sarah’s Trust, alongside six other charities affiliated with her, has shut down this year.
