Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff and Emmy Award nominee Lea Michele step into PS 57 in New York City to transform a classroom into a full blown showbiz bootcamp! This episode of Celebrity Substitute is a full-throttle masterclass in star power, stage presence, and surviving the spotlight.
Reuniting years after their iconic days on Glee, these Broadway besties bring their choir-room chemistry straight to the classroom. Inspired by the heralded musical Gypsy, these Broadway besties kick things off with a legendary lesson from showbiz history: “ya gotta have a gimmick.” From violin solos to a Hamilton inspired performance, the students learn that standing out is half the battle.
In a series of intimate masterclasses, Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff work one-on-one with the students, coaching them on stage presence, confidence, and how to make an audience fall in love with you.
The episode culminates in an electrifying talent show competition: Team Jonathan vs Team Lea. Only one team can take home the trophy.
