Porter’s best friend, Lawanda Lane, who said she was responsible for going through and distributing Porter’s possessions after her death (and did not find a memoir), said she (along with Diddy’s family) didn’t even know who Burgess was, despite him claiming to be an associate of Porter’s. Diddy later sued Burgess (along with Nexstar Media, NewsNation’s parent company, which covered Burgess’s claims) for defamation. It does not appear that this has gone to trial yet.
