The musical lineup for the first Augusta Music and Songwriter Festival in May at the downtown depot lot has been announced.
The two-day music festival is planned for May 15-16 at the downtown depot lot next to the 5th Street Bridge by the Savannah River. It is being presented by Growing Augusta in collaboration with the Greater Augusta Arts Council and Destination Augusta, according to a news release from the Arts Council.
The inaugural festival celebrates “the art of songwriting through live performances, interactive workshops, great food, refreshing drinks, and an energetic community atmosphere,” according to the news release.
The lineup includes regional and national talent, including Big K.R.I.T., Shawn Mullins, Anthony David, Angie Aparo, Trap Jazz, Elli Perry, Travis Shaw, AE the Cool, Muz Mercer, and Judge Wood.
Performances will be across many genres, including R&B, jazz, gospel, rock, alternative, and hip-hop. There will be workshops where attendees can learn about the songwriting process through workshops and conversations with artists.
