Older sibling Beatrice has an apartment in St James’s Palace while Eugenie has Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom property at Kensington Palace. Both sisters are married mothers of two who, through various emails from their parents recently unearthed in the Epstein Files, have been dragged into the ongoing international scandal.
When Beatrice was 21, and Eugenie 19, they flew with their mum to the US for lunch with vile Epstein in July 2009, days after he finished his prison sentence for procuring a 14-year-old girl for prostitution.
Fergie flew her daughters into the wicked web of the depraved paedophile financier, and now she and Andrew are hurting their girls’ reputations just through the ongoing shame of the House of York.
Under a previously agreed deal, Beatrice and Eugenie can still use St James’s and Kensington Palaces as their second homes despite having primary residences elsewhere.
The arrangement between the Yorks and the King requires them to pay an undisclosed sum in rent and enables the sisters to each have a London bolthole.
A source explained: “The deal was made with their father as he wanted them to have a foothold in the royal palaces.”
Beatrice – married to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi – lives in a £3 million Oxfordshire home with daughters Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1 – as well as Wolfie, 9, Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship.
Eugenie – married to marketing executive Jack Brooksbank – lives in Portugal with their two children, August, 5, and Ernest, 2.
It’s been claimed Andrew paid £1,600 a month to rent a four-bedroom apartment in St James’s Palace for his daughters, a below-market-value rate. It is not clear if the princesses are now responsible for their own palace rental costs.
It is understood that the rent paid for the princesses’ palace pads goes back into the sovereign grant, which funds the official work of the Royal Family.
Now – after Eugenie felt compelled to step down recently as patron of charity Anti-Slavery International – the sisters may be wondering if growing pressure on their parents and family could force them to relinquish their palace homes.
If the weight of the Epstein Files forces Beatrice and Eugenie to hand back their royal house keys, it will be the final humiliating blow – and one they can only blame on their parents’ shameless greed and foolishness.
