Sachiko Abe is a Japanese performance artist known for her unique artwork Cut Papers. In this performance, she spends hours cutting A4 paper with scissors into extremely thin strips while the rhythmic sound of the scissors fills the space.
She practiced this technique for 14 years, sometimes cutting paper for up to 10 hours a day. Over time, the delicate strands fall to the floor and slowly create a beautiful installation that looks like snow.
For Abe, this repetitive process is a form of meditation and focus, turning a simple act into a powerful piece of contemporary performance art.
