President Donald Trump shared he is “proud” of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr for his threat to revoke the licenses of any broadcaster that promotes falsehoods about the Iran war.
Carr has repeatedly made headlines with threats against late-night hosts, including Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel.
On March 14, Carr stated in an X post that outlets that run what he called “hoaxes and news distortions” need to change course before their licenses are up for renewal.
“The law is clear,” he wrote. “Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.”
