Ali Larter shares her experience of filming Landman in the Texas heat after hearing Dutton Ranch‘s Cole Hauser’s experience was brutal

The Texas heat is no joke, especially for Cole Hauser.
Hauser, 51, stars on Dutton Ranch, which films in the Lone Star State, also home to Landman.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere of the latest show in the Yellowstone universe on May 12, Hauser said the heat made it tough to keep weight on, explaining that he was “sweating it out.”
For Landman‘s Ali Larter, on the other hand, working in the heat makes filming more exciting, adding, “Bring on the challenges!”

“I actually prefer to work in environments where, if it’s Texas and it’s supposed to be hot, let’s shoot in the heat,” the actress, 50, told PEOPLE at Newport Beach TV Fest on June 6. “I don’t want to shoot in an air-conditioned place three states away.”
“For me personally, I’ve always liked to shoot on location, especially if you have the luxury of filming where the story actually takes place,” Larter continued.
“Come on, tell Cole he can handle the heat,” she joked.

Taylor Sheridan is the mastermind behind both series. While Dutton Ranch premiered on May 15, Landman premiered in the fall of 2024, and its third season is set to release in November.
At the festival, Larter revealed the one thing that fans of the Western drama would be surprised to learn. “I think you expect some of us as characters to be the exact same when we’re not on camera, and I think that we all really fall into our roles when we’re shooting,” she shared.
“Our show is built from an extraordinary cast of people that give 110% of their energy and their time and commitment,” she continued.
Larter explains that because production takes place over five months, it feels like “we are shooting a movie every single time we do a session.”
“I think we put that time and care and commitment in from the entire cast to make sure that we are always playing at the top of our game, and we’re never moving on unless we get the scene,” she explained.
Landman seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Paramount+.
