Katie Couric had her social media followers in stitches with a recent comment about Melania Trump‘s new documentary.
A clip from the 2026 documentary Melania was posted to Threads earlier in the week, showing the first lady riding in her car while singing along to Michael Jackson‘s “Billie Jean.”
The person who posted the video said the singing clip was their “favorite” part of the movie and that Melania “did a great job” with the film—but Couric, 69, had just one word in response: “Riveting.”
Couric’s reply appeared to be oozing with sarcasm, as she’s been known to speak out againstDonald Trump and his administration on many occasions before.
Couric’s cheeky one-liner garnered some applause from several users on Threads, including one user who said the former Today show host was “spot on” with her sarcastic response.
“I just love Katie Couric’s shade game,” another user added.
Someone else told Couric, “I giggled so hard when I saw your comment.”
“Shady Couric is giving me life!!!” another fan wrote, while more Threads users left more comments like, “I could smell the sarcasm from here,” and “Love when Katie trolls.”
“Katie with a one-liner!” another user applauded.
Melania—which follows the first lady in the weeks leading up to Trump’s second presidential inauguration in 2025—released in theaters worldwide on Jan. 30, before arriving on Amazon’s Prime Video earlier this month.
