Chuck Norris has been hospitalized after a medical emergency.
The 86-year-old Hollywood star experienced a medical emergency in the last 24 hours on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, which landed him in the hospital, according to TMZ‘s sources. While the nature of the emergency is unknown, the outlet reported that they were told that Norris is in good spirits.
The outlet further reported that whatever happened to the icon must have been quick, as on Wednesday, March 18, the martial artist was training on the island. Norris appeared in good spirits as he spoke with a friend on the phone.
Norris, whose real name is Carlos Ray Norris, just celebrated his birthday on March 10, marking the occasion by posting a video on social media showing him sparring with a trainer.
He wrote on his birthday post, “I don’t age. I level up. I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love.
“Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know. God Bless, Chuck Norris.”
He followed up his caption with, “Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes!”
Fans took to the comments section to wish the star a happy birthday, with one person praising, “Happy birthday to the legend.”
Another penned, “Big Cheers For A Very Happy Birthday Chuck!!!” A third added, “Happy Birthday, Papa Norris! Love you.”
Yet another joked about Norris’ punching in the video, “Fun fact, this was only 0.0000000001% of Chuck Norris’s power.”
Norris previously took to Instagram to show off his fitness skills while celebrating his 84th birthday two years ago.
The Hollywood star unveiled impressive boxing skills after sharing a video showing him throwing some jabs at a heavy punching bag.
Standing in front of a stunning ocean view and rolling hills, he laughed, “You know, I’m 84 today, but I feel like I’m 48,” adding, “God bless you all.”
In the caption, Chuck wrote, “Feeling good and staying active! Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. God Bless.”
Also that year, Norris announced the death of his mom, Wilma Knight, aged 103.
He shared, along with a compilation of photos on Instagram, “Wednesday morning, my brother Aaron and I’s wonderful mother went home to be with Jesus. Our mom was a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of light in our lives, and her love reflected God’s grace.
“Growing up, her laughter filled our home with joy, and her hugs provided a sense of safety that we will forever cherish. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel special, often putting the needs of others before her own.
“From my earliest memories, she taught me the importance of kindness and compassion. I am so thankful for the countless lessons she shared, the prayers she lifted for us, and the way she embodied the love of Christ every day. We love you, Mom. Until we meet again.”
Norris, who holds black belts in Karate, Taekwondo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, got his start in the early 1970s as Bruce Lee’s nemesis in Way of the Dragon. His first leading role came in 1977’s Breaker! Breaker!
He went on to star in action films throughout the ’70s and ’80s before being cast in the titular role of the CBS television series Walker, Texas Ranger (1993 – 2001).
Norris’ latest role came in 2012’s Expendables 2, alongside Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham.
