Taylor Frankie Paul was seemingly able to laugh off her past arrest.
“Tip: don’t throw things, you might see police lights,” Paul, 31, wrote over an August 2025 TikTok video of herself lip-synching to Rihanna’s “Breakin’ Dishes” about an unfaithful partner.
“I’m breakin’ dishes up in here, all night,” the lyrics read. “I ain’t gon’ stop until I see police lights / I’ma fight a man tonight.”
The song continues, “I’m gettin’ restless, I’m gettin’ tested / And I can’t believe he’s always out every night and never checks in / Is he cheatin’? Man, I don’t know / I’m lookin’ ’round for somethin’ else to throw.”
Paul also captioned her post, “Don’t do it.”
Paul’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives costar Jessi Draper replied in the comments section, writing, “Lesson learned 😂.”
Paul, who did not further elaborate on the meaning of her social media upload, was arrested in February 2023 after a heated argument with Mortensen, 33. The MomTok creator was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief.

Taylor, who shares two children with ex-husband Tate Paul and 2-year-old son Ever with Mortensen, pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charges and the remaining charges were dismissed.
“The charges were all dropped,” Taylor claimed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in September 2025. “I never hurt my daughter, I never did anything intentionally with my children. I never have ever.”
Months later in March, TMZ obtained footage from the alleged incident where Taylor threw a pair of stools at Mortensen with her daughter Indy, now 8, watching from the corner. A spokesperson for Taylor, however, claimed the video was “selectively edited.”
In light of the TMZ video’s publication, ABC canceled Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette ahead of its scheduled Sunday, March 22, premiere.
“We have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time,” a spokesperson for Disney Entertainment Television told Us Weekly in a Thursday, March 19, statement. “Our focus is on supporting the family.”
Taylor subsequently issued her own statement about the show being scrapped.
“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” the influencer’s rep told Us. “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

The statement concluded, “She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
Mortensen also released a statement about the video contents.
“As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation,” he told Us in a Thursday statement. “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.”
