Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been given a few strict rules to follow amid the Epstein scandal. Although nothing shows any wrongdoing by the sisters, their disgraced parents have seen their reputations shattered over their own connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson lost their titles last year and were evicted from the 30-room Royal Lodge last month. Just four years after Andrew moved into the home in 2004, Sarah later moved in with her former husband in 2008.
Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, who will turn 36 next week, have not seen much change to their positions in the Firm and have remained ninth and twelfth in the line of succession.
Speaking of the sisters, royal expert and author of The Windsor Legacy, Robert Jobson, shared a few rules that they should now follow.
He said: “My understanding is that the princesses have been firmly advised to keep their heads down, avoid any moves that might generate headlines, and certainly not to do anything that looks like a play for relevance or rehabilitation for their parents.
“The York situation is fascinating and genuinely complex right now. Their brand is deeply toxic – Andrew’s association with Epstein continues to cast a long shadow.”
According to Mr Jobson, King Charles is very fond of his nieces and is the only one fighting for them.
He added: “Charles loves those girls. Always has. But he won’t go to war for Andrew – and they know it.”
Beatrice and Eugenie have faced a damning blow as a majority of fans said they believe they should be stripped of their titles. A staggering 56 percent of the 2,375 people who voted voted that Beatrice and Eugenie should lose their princess titles.
