BURBANK, Calif. — California lawmakers raised concerns about the proposed $111 billion merger between Warner Bros. and Paramount during a hearing Friday at Burbank City Hall, which is home to thousands of employees and businesses that rely on the storied studio to make a living.
Members of Congress, including Sen. Adam Schiff and Rep. Laura Friedman, questioned whether the deal could lead to layoffs and reduce competition in an industry already facing a production slowdown.
