New Music Friday (06/04/2026): Vince Staples, Lizzo & Taylor Swift

Treefort is back in downtown Boise, and many of the festival’s events and experiences are free, with pop-up shows and community activities spread across several nearby venues.

At Julia Davis Park, the Gene Harris Bandshell is hosting free live music from noon into the evening. A market and food trucks are also on site and free to the public, making it a convenient stop for people biking the Greenbelt or spending time near the park.

Families can also visit Treefort’s kid-friendly Nestfort, located a short walk away, with hands-on art, sound and science activities, plus interactive performances throughout the afternoon.

Next door at the Idaho State Museum, Storyfort is offering free readings, writing workshops and speaker sessions.

A few blocks downtown at Grove Plaza, the Cyclops Stage is set up with live performers cycling through all day. Between sets, visitors can browse the Treefort Market, which is open to the public inside the Boise Centre.

Farther out, Rhodes Skate Park is home to Skatefort. On Saturday, visitors can watch skateboarders take over the park or participate themselves, while also enjoying a free music lineup.

For those looking to step away from the busiest areas, The Ocho is also hosting Storyfort programming, including readings, writing workshops, and talks with touring photographers.

Podcast fans can head to the Boise Contemporary Theater, where Podfort is hosting free live recordings during the afternoon. There is also one more chance to catch a show at the Balcony Club.

At Ming Studios, visitors can stop by for art installations, with the same installation also being shown at Lost Grove.

At Boise Centre East, free discussions are focused on the business behind the music, with sessions aimed at offering insight into the industry and life beyond the stage.

If you want to look at a comprehensive schedule for time and details of the events for Saturday, and the remaining ones on Sunday, you can find that here.
