Meghan Markle has been urged to return to acting as her and Prince Harry have been left reeling from the Netflix shock. The 44-year-old previously starred as Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits, between 2011 and 2017.
The couple previously signed a five-year deal with Netflix in 2020, with it later turning into a “first-look” deal last year. It has since been reported that Netflix are “done” with Meghan and Harry, with the streaming service left “exhausted” by the couple’s “perceived pattern of selling repackaged versions of the same story about their exit from royal life”.
According to Meghan’s former co-star Eric Roberts – who is the older brother of Julia Roberts – the former actress should move on from her current path and make a return to acting.
While attending a Gala earlier this month, Eric told the Daily Mail: “She will come back.”
Eric’s casting director and manager wife Eliza, who was also at the event, added: “It is time. And Meghan needs to come back to work. I feel like her whole family will support it, and she is amazing.”
Speaking of Megha, Eliza also added that Meghan had stepped away from acting after concerns from the Royal Family about her “very sexy” character.
She added: “It is tricky because of the monarchy. Her role in Suits was very sexy. Her making love with another man, that was just – they’ve never seen anything like that. She worked so hard to get there. That was just too much.”
Agreeing that Meghan should make a “fantastic” comeback, she added exactly what she thought fans would make of a return. Eliza said that it would “blow everybody’s mind”.
The comments come as it was reported that Meghan had filmed a cameo for the upcoming film Close Personal Friends last year.
The film also stars Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.
